Some more progress shots, this time showcasing the opposite end of the line. Broadstone Junction was the location where the S&D rails officially terminated, with S&D trains running onto the LSWR Old Road (or Castleman's Corkscrew) for the last section through to Poole and onto Bournemouth. The station had a small good yard, and an iconic roadbridge from which a large number of working-days photographs were taken!
The area has been lovingly recreated within the sim, and has been furnished with a wide array of period-accurate gubbins, such as the animated Whitaker tablet-catcher apparatus on either line for use by S&D trains, white sighting boxes painted onto the bridge face , and the iconic Up Starting signals, suspended under the signal brackets.
In the coming weeks, the team is hoping to get some of the remaining scenery up to Shillingstone completed, with a big focus on the remaining custom assets. More progress updates to follow!
